2/6/14 Giant Egg Sandwich

Steroids make you hungry. Even if you aren't taking them anymore....you want to eat!!! This is an egg sandwich made with 3 eggs, milk, and cheese. It doesn't even fit the bread. But that's the way she wanted it. And now it's all gone.

1/4/14 Last Day of Steroids EVER!!!!

The high doses of Steroids these kids get is insanely toxic. The side effects can be so strong and overwhelming. Kallia is no exception to the manic emotions that come with these medicines. She builds up deep anger and out of control emotions that build until she is crying, yelling, and screaming for no reasons at all. Not knowing why she is melting down adds to her downward spiral because she knows she is acting completely illogical and insane and yet she feels helpless to control it. Tonight was no exception and it was all about a toaster strudel.

That is why tonight we celebrate the last dose of steroids ever to be taken (baring relapse!) Here's to no more STERIODS!!!!

1/31/14 Play doh Day

Today started off rough with steroids making Kallia's mood really grumpy. She's hungry, tired, and just doesn't feel good. But play doh to the rescue!

11/7/13 First Full Day Back at School

Today was Kallia's first full day back at school!!!!!! She was pretty tired when she got home. So she and Charity cuddled up on the couch together and watched a movie!

10/31/13 Trick or Treat

Trick or treating at the hospital.

AND she got her wig in the mail today. She has the wig and hat on!!! She was so excited!!!

10/26/13 A Big Surprise

This was a great, bad, wonderful day!!!

First we went to a cancer fun run in Provo, UT and ran a mile to support cancer. We also watched the Halloween Half and the girls had fun watching all the great costumes.

The bad was when Charity was anger at lunch time and hit Kallia right on her incision. Kallia was in so much pain she quit breathing and passed out. Luckily she quickly regained herself and was feeling better.

Then some family friends came by and brought Kallia an amazing basket full of goodies to cheer her up. She's had a hard week so this was perfect!!! Can you tell by the blurry picture she was really excited about the nailpolish???!!!!
