Last night was the roughest night yet. Kallia was in tons of pain. Her legs were hurting her terribly. She had a really bad headache and she couldn't sleep. She was starting to get a fever. We put her in our bed and I "slept" on the floor. She cried for hours about her legs hurting. Steve rubbed them for hours and every time he stopped and fell asleep she would yell waking us both back up. Around 2 or 3 I heard Steve said he would give her $5 if she would let him go to sleep. She said ok. She finally fell asleep. And then for some reason she started waking up every 30 mins to go potty. She had been getting good at going by herself and not needing a lot of help. But she could hardly walk last night so I had to help her out of bed, help her walk to the potty, hold her up, and get her back to bed. Every 30 mins until 8:00 am. It was very strange and EXAUSTING. She was doing better today but her legs hurt really bad. They are so swollen. Poor little girl.
This morning Kallia asked for her $5 and Steve had no recollection of saying that. But Kallia had a witness because I heard it!!!! We all laughed at what we would do for some sleep!
Tomorrow she has a lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspirate. The marrow will be sent to Seattle for a special test called MRD. It can detect leukemia down to the .001.
We hope she is .0000000000000000000000001

ReplyDelete**HUGS** for all of you... sleepless nights are tough :( Praying that tonight will be better! Thanks for your testimonies yesterday... you're an inspiration to all of us!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear she is on her way to recovery. How miserable she must be not to get her sleep and to be in so much pain. I feel for you and steve too...when parents don't get sleep...well...you know...it all kind of makes everything more difficult. Hugs!
